Any chance of a Windows (XP) version?

  2. lowell Says:

Steven — sorry, probably not. Lostify is written on the Mac using AppleScript Studio (Xcode), and there is currently no real migration path from there to Windows without a complete rewrite (something I’m not terribly interested in pursuing at this point).

  3. Dack Says:

I’m having some issues, sorry to say. First of all, when I hit “trash original and replace”, as I’ve always, done, I get an error saying it that “[file name]-tagged.m4a” wasn’t found. So I backed up the file on my own and ran it through on the “unwise!” option, but none of the changes are taking place or are being recognized by iTunes.

Dack — I’m sorry to year you’re having issues. I have had a couple reports from others with similar problems, and I’m investigating them. I hope to have a new build up in the next couple days that addresses them.

I have to say, I’m really starting to like Lostify. MetaX gives me weird errors whenever I try to set Artwork to my files, and I love the idea of setting reasons for why a movie or show is rated R or TV-MA. I’m curious, though, when will handling batch conversions become a much better experience? The only reason I’m sticking with MetaX is because I can set tags for an entire season of south park, or multiple seasons, very easily. Something I can’t recreate in Lostify. Other than that though, Lostify is better in my opinion.

  6. Lila Says:

Sadly I’m having the exact same problem as Dack. All the other settings don’t hold the information when imported into iTunes and the “Trash Original and Replace” always comes up with the same error about not finding the file.

I hope you find a way to fix this soon! As I love the fact I can now add details to my tv shows :)

I’ve tried replying to Dack and Lila via email… not sure if the addresses they entered were valid… but the bottom line is, I have been trying for some time to reproduce this error, but I haven’t been able to. I suspect it may be [updated 8/27/08] related to the machine architecture. Could it be that this problem only occurs on Intel machines running OS 10.4?? I have an Intel machine running 10.5 and a PPC G4 running 10.4, and I’ve never been able to reproduce the issue. Can anyone else confirm this suspicion? Thanks!

I found lostify while looking for a way to edit the content-rating for my media collection. Thanks this rocks!

I thought I’d suggest the one thing I didn’t see on your future additions: Target Directory support. Eg: put new copy in // and trash original.

If your interested in a getting a little help (testing, code snippets, whatever) let me know.
